Last day on the island....let my eyes swim into the blue sky while my body dived into the ocean....kai makani, ocean breeze swept through my hair and over my skin. Times like these I give thanks and appreciation for all the beauty that surrounds me.

I love my island home...and now I am leaving her behind. I am always a little nervous about leaving, packing, airports, traveling....sitting on the plane, but I am also excited to experience something new.

This trip i am headed to Alaska, for my first time visiting the Last Frontier. I have an hour to go and then it is off to the airport to get through that lne of people where we take off our shoes and hope they do not pat us down and touch our boobs....Cest La Vie...A hui hou kākou, until we meet again....next post Anchorage...

Hoʻokahi

INHawaii...the I stands for Island the N stands for Native....that is basically what I am...an Island Native, which is to say I am not a Kanaka Maoli, a Native Hawaiian, but rather a person who identifies with island life. I have come to realize there is no place I feel more at home than on a land surrounded by water. I feel safe here. It is where I belong, here on Oʻahu...Oʻahu nei....
